Default 2007 Rancher 420 fuel filter

I bought a 2007 Rancher and it ran ok for a tank or two of fuel, and then it started with a vaper locking symptom. The research I did lead me to the fuel pump. I took it apart and looked inside. I have a new one coming as it was gummed up so bad. Has anybody installed a fuel filter on these? Where did you put it and any advice for doing it?

I put the new fuel pump on, and no change. I checked the valve adjustment and they were (yes, tough to get to) perfect. It seems hot or cold, gas cap on or off, the thing dies when you touch the throttle. Any help?

I had an 2007 model 420..That drove me crazy...it would idle great and run good at slow throttle but on hard throttle it would die or have an bad stumble.....I did fuel filter no change..replace fuel pump no change......but by accident I replaced the ignition coil off another atv an bingo.....I couldnt believe it...But put the bad coil on other atv and the same thing happened....So I replaced coil an runs great....I did fuel pressure test on both atv an was the same.....I guess I got lucky.....And yes I ll take it....It does sound odd, But it fixed this one.If you have an buddy with the same atv..Change his out to see.....Good Luck.

Yes both and all 420 have the same set as far as I know.....Not saying thats is your problem,,But it does sounds like what my was doing tho....Its just an ac coil.so IMO any ac coil would work fine as an test coil...300 fourtrax,350 rancher,450 foreman, 500 foreman..
