Default 300ex clutch problem

I have a 98 300ex that I purchased in December. When I pull the clutch in in first gear, it sort of jerks and then disengage. The other thing is when I put it in reverse it just goes, even with the clutch pulled all the way in. Any ideas?

my blaster had the same problem ,it would be probably that the plates are "stuck" atttach on each other, that's a bad quality clutch kit, change the clutch kit for a better quality (plates, springs).

The first thing I would check is for looseness in your clutch cable. Also make sure the cable isn't getting hung up anywhere and is not frayed. If that checks out and you do open up the clutch, be sure to inspect the basket for grooving which can also cause your clutch to stick. It isn't super hard to change out clutch plates.

Also IMO could be wrong oil in engine.....The incorrect oil could cause clutchs to stick together...Need oil for an wet atv clutch....

Sounds like the basket is grooved. Simple fix. File all the ears smooth.

Make clutch disc stick together sometime when an atv sets.
