Time for me to do my spring tune up my 2009 Honda Rancher 420 4x4 foot shift. Any thoughts on wether I should go with K&N oil filter or Honda OEM?

 

I used the K&N in my 450 Foreman and its fine. Don,t put it in backwards or it will blow the motor, crazy set up.

 

Agree its very important to make sure the filter is replaced in the correct orientation. I know someone that put his in backwards, interestingly his engine was fine but within 30 minutes of riding the trans locked up and almost sent him over the bars at around 35 mph. The transmission locked up and seized which actually saved his engine since he immediately turned it off. At the time he had no idea it was starved of oil. Brought it to the dealer and they found he installed the filter backwards. Even though it was just the trans, it was still an expensive repair I think it was just above $1,000 for parts and labor at a local Honda dealer.

 

Its just an oil filter... I have used K&N for the last three years cuz I got a deal and bought a three pack. This year I picked up an OEM. Like they said... just put it in right.
