1997 foreman, electric start has never worked for me, have always used pull start, however the other day it died on me and now the neutral light wont come up on dash and I have no spark. I have tried putting green and red stripe wire to negative and it hasn't made my light show up. Where do I begin to look to find out whats wrong with it?

 

Come on people what causes a foreman to turn off and not get power to the neutral light along with no spark

 

so you've checked the neutral switch and its wiring? is it all intact?
i'd trace the wires up to the dash to see if there ain't a wiring deficiency. as far as your starter, i presume you've tested the solenoid? have you charged the battery and jumped the solenoid with a screwdriver? if the solenoid jumps the starter, i'd go back to the starter switch and then see if there are any safety interlocks to satisfy.

 

and start checking the quick connects on the wiring harness/loom.

 

I don't see any anything obvious, how exactly do I check neutral switch? And could you confirm where to find this neutral switch? I have tried earthing the green and red stripe wire didn't make any difference though
