What am I missing here?
I installed mine today, but it doesn't seem to fit right.
1)The flanges at the head seem way too thick. The studs barely stick through the flanges enough to get the bolts on. And yes I put new copper gaskets at the head.
2)The pipes stick out too far, I mean Bow-Legged too far. I have a pair of Alpinestar boots. I'm not about to melt them to my exhaust pipes.

Please help. I've waited 5 weeks to get this exhaust and paid $500 for it. I don't want to take it off and be forced to sell it.

And the clutch arm on the motor rests against the lower pipe, thus not allowing my clutch to engage!

I'm disppointed that a $500 pipe doesn't even fit correctly!

Someone please help!!

The DMC will stick out from the motor farther than the stock head pipe. The bottom pipe has a 2" mark where my pants hits the pipe. No more wearing shorts while riding. The flange appears to be a little thicker than stock, therefore not allowing studs to stick out as far. If you have no leaks...ride.

If you put in the little round things in the front of your pipe take them out and throw them away.you can also get a heatshield from james lucky to keep from melting your boot. I have tried header wrap but i keep rubbing through that.

You need those copper crush gaskets. Without them your exhaust will leak like mad! All exhausts need some kind of gasket(car, truck, etc.) even 2-strokes have o-rings.

Anyway I've got everything tight and fooled with it enough not to touch my clutch arm, but I only rode my quad down the alley behind my house. I'll be going riding this weekend. We'll see how it performs.

Im not talking about the copper crush gaskets. I was talking about those little aluminum pieces that came with the pipe they slip in the front of the headpipe. It has a smaller diameter tube and its about an inch long. I guess there called a torque stuffer. Its about impossible to put the pipe on if you use them. I dont know if you got them with your pipe or not but if you did just throw them away.

Those 2 aluminum pieces are not "torque stuffers". They are spacers for the silencer. They go into the frame with the big end out in place of the stock rubber mounts . This makes the mount more ridgid and keeps the silencer about a quarter inch further out from the frame.

That's amazing, I didn't get anything like that.
Is this a part I should try to get or will it work without them?
I'm starting to feel that I got raped on this deal.
