I have an 87 Honda 250x and a 95 Yamaha Warrior. I have to do a science fair project, and need ideas. I want to stick around with the quads, or just around the idea of small engines. I have no idea what to do for the science fair, and need an idea set soon.

 

Could do a combination of internal combustion motor, the science of gearing on the sprockets and maybe the science that goes into the transmission.

 

Idea 1. How about the relationship/differences between horsepower, torque and RPM? Then, from there, relate it to transmission and gearing. (sprockets & tire size).

Idea 2. How air/fuel mix affects power & longevity (jet size, exhaust mods)

Idea 3. The differences in carbs and FI and the advantges/disadvantages of each

Idea 4. Power to weight ratio

 

Or, difference in tire tread patterns and amount of soil they can move.

Live roosting demonstration as a bonus.

 

Or, How to convince your wife you need a new ATV

 

That's Nobel Prize winning stuff right there.
