Default it finally died


The trans took a dump at 17,052 miles and 1943 hours.

not sure yet - been looking at new ATVs - they sure want a lot of money for them LOL

If that's the photo of it where it died, it looks damn good for that many miles/hours. Motor still run good?

That's where the trans went out - I was pushing it pretty hard

motor still runs great - in fact it still has the factory brakes on it - it's "rougher" than it looks but I've always kept it clean

Put the tranny back together and turn it loose.........and by the looks of all that snow invest in a plow too .
Its defiantly got more to give

If the motor is good, with no excessive blowby or loss of compression, then there shouldn't be a lot to worry about. Its paid off, and a tranny probably isn't that much. New machines are big $$$, to fix this one would be far less, plus your really familiar and comfortable with this one rather then getting to know a new one

the trans is about $1000, plus a new oil pump that drives the trans - parts run in the $1500 range - plus I'm not so sure that I want to do it so add another $500+ for labor
