first off, most of the quads you see in the video's are 250R's. They run aftermarket frames, suspension, a arms, bla bla bla. But they are still a 250R.

as far as putting a dirtbike motor into a quad, I would stay away from it unless you plan on getting an aftermarket frame (big bucks) Into almost any stock frame, the non-counterbalanced engine will ruin the frame due to too much vibration.

the Tecate-4 engine was faster than the 250R engine stock vs. stock. However, the Tecate-4 handled like crap compared to the 250R. Also, the 250R has WAY more mods out for it now, and is the 2 stroke MX quad of choice.

I think aaron was asking specifically about the Kawasaki that William Yokley rides.

Yes, most of the quads are 250R's, i think that speaks for itself.

I have araced a tecate 4.I raced it when my 250r still had the stock pipe and silencer.it was bored .020 over, wiseco piston, boyesen reeds, uni fiter, and a motion pro twist throttle.Other than that it was all stock. The tecate 4 had FMF pipe and silencer and was on it's last bore.(That is what the guy said)

I had brand new holeshot mx's and he had bald stockers. We where racing in chat.We raced 3 times he beat me the 2nd time but I beat him the other 2.The guy was shocked that my bike actually won.

This was before I knew tecate's where this fast.If I knew this I probably wouldn't have challenged him!

Dirt wheels did a republication of the shootout between the LT 250R the tecate-4 and the TRX 250R. The tecate was fastest but handled poorly, the TRX was the second fastest but had the best handling out of the three. The Suzuki had "good ergonomics", and the article stated that if you had a TRX frame with a tecate-4 motor, and suzuki ergonomics you would have an excellent sport quad.
