Anyone buy a spare plug for your Ruby?

$18 at the dealer. Wow, I'm glad there is only one cylinder.

Pretty ridiculous isn't it?
It's like the main jets in a Yamaha. $8 each. I pity the people with triple cylinder snowmobiles.

 

Try www.servicehonda.com they advertise that their prices are 30% cheaper than standard pricing.

 

They are nice plugs. They are NGK Iridium tipped so you dont have to buy a high performance one in the future. Do call up service honda I get all my parts from them.

 

I didn't find iridium plugs on NGK's website. Are these the platinum plugs that sell for around $6 at places other than Honda dealers? How about a part number?

 

Try looking them up in Dennis Kirk. I could have sworn i saw some in there the other day for cheaper then what you're paying. I hate it when the dealers really stick it to ya like that.

 

Yes they say NGK on the side of them. They are not the "Platnum" series, they are iridium tipped.

And their most expensive platinum plug is $8.40 including shipping. Can you supply an NGK plug number? Should be written on the porcelin part of the plug or maybe in the Honda owner's manual. I haven't found any reference to iridium plugs by NGK. Maybe it's something brand new or maybe it's a re-labeled plug for Honda so they can sell it for $18 thru their dealers.

 

I would be very interested to know what it is so important to run such an expensive plug. I could see where you could make a plug from the most rare materials just to make it a high-profit item.
What could be so unique about the ingnition spark in the Rubicon engine?
