400ex Wheel turn around
#1
I'm sure all you 400ex owners have noticed that the front wheels are backwards. I've heard this is for a number of reasons such as better braking. A friend of mine turned his wheels around to try it out and said it was much better. Steering was much easier and it didn't push in the turns. As for braking there was no difference. Try it see what you think.

We did it on a '99 last year, you will have to get special street rod style valve stems. After reversing the wheels we took it to the track, yes it was nicer, but we promply smashed an upper control arm after the 2nd jump. It may have been pre-stressed though due to an unfortunate string of events the week before, my friend who owns the bike is out of town right now, but last time I talked to him, he replaced the control arm and reversed the wheels again, he says it is fine and likes the extra width, I think I will let him ride it a little longer, if it survives, I will do mine.....
