Default 300ex Electric start problem-reverse inhibitor unit?

So I've been tracing down an electric start problem on my 300 ex and have ran into a couple things. First it was sporadic, as in you would push it 10 times and 1 one of the times it would start. I traced that down to what I think was a bad connections in one of the cable boots. (corroded). After I did that it worked perfectly every time I pushed the button. Now it's not working at all.

Current synopsis: pull the clutch and push the button: nothing.
When I disconnect the wire boot that has the black, light green, grey/black and the grey wire from the reverse inhibitor unit. (leaving the others plugged in)it will turn over but not start.
Does this mean it's stuck in reverse or what?

Just verified it is not in reverse.
Any thoughts?
