I just bought a 1996 trx 300 that has been stored for 1 year. Of course the batt. was dead. I jumped it and it cranked!! Blew out some black smoke for a little bit. What maintance do I need to do to it to get it up and running smooth? Thanks.

I'd change the oil, clean the carb, but a fresh plug in, and adjust the valves just to be on the safe side. Also I'd clean out the gas tank because they are metal on the TRX300 and you might have some rust floating around. It wouldn't be a bad idea to install an inline fuel filter either. You should also change the gear oil in the front and rear differental while you're at it.
