question: i have $200 to spend on a 400ex, dont want to get a pipe just yet. if i got a one industries graphic kit, seat cover, and a ac front bumper would any of you say that i wasted my money? (or should have gotten something else)

 

i would get a k&n filter, tires, or even though you said you didn't want a pipe i would suggest that.

 

i will probably eventually get a pipe, but i am waiting on that because the ex is still fun stock, so ill wait untill i get tired of it for a pipe. tires i will wait on untill the stockers wear out, probably get bandit rears and bandit xcr fronts.

 

i would get things for protection such as skid plates, shockwears, and other things like that.

 

I would get some new handlebars I have renthal 400EX and my brother has the atv race bend. They are both good and an improvement over the stockers. Also, an air filter would be good if you ride in alot of dust the Uni foam are nice, and I would modify your airbox drill holes or go to sparksracing.com and checkout their airbox mod. You will probably want to go up at least on size on your main jet if not two.

Ok, you still got like $75. So what else a 14 tooth front sprocket $20 if you want a little more snap. You also could just get the AC front bumper.

It is your money, but the graphics kits and non go fast or safety goodies just dont appeal to me too much.

I've got One graphics & seat cover and they look really cool, but the seat cover is a pain to install. You can also trim your front fenders for free.

 

You have to make a decision, do you want the quad to look good or run better for $200. Tto run better, get some Aluminun bars and the a steering Stabilazer and stay for now with the stock foam airfilter ( it works good).
Watch which silncer you get some are good and some are junk. Look at the test in Atvsport mag.

 

I would save more money because that $200 will go pretty quick no matter what you get. If you could double it or more you could do a little of both.
It also depends on what kind of rideing you do.
If you are only rideing trails than do skids and shockwears etc......, racing than do pipe, jets maby tires... (I think you get the idea)

when i get a silencer i will be getting a white bros. unless something better for less comes out. when the stock tires ware out, i think i am going to get bandits. i ride woods. i think i am trying to go on necessity, but i want a sweet quad. i'm thinking if i start with cosmetics, than do tires then a pipe, i will not get sick of it too soon, and have a head turning quad.
