warrior or 300ex
#1
The other day I was at a atv dealer looking at some quads because I will be getting one soon, I was looking at the Warrior and 300ex. The sales person I spoke to said that both quads were good and he could give me the same amount off of both quads about 500 making the warrior they had 4500 and the 300ex 4300 which do you guys honestly think is a better buy, they guy said theyre about equal but honda is more reliable, but yamaha still makes a great bike, any input will help thanks guys.

Before buying my 300ex i rode both a 300ex and a warrior. I also rode a mojave too.
Personally i like the 300ex. It handles better, is lighter and feels slightly faster than the warrior. My friend who owns the warrior is selling it to buy a 300ex now because he rode mine and liked it so much.
I know everyone will say that i'm saying to get the 300ex because i have one but thats not the case. Think about it.....why wouldnt i have bought a warrior if i thought it was the better quad? Get a 300ex and you wont be sorry.

My cousin and I both have Warriors. We both love them. They are a great quad for trails. My friend USED to have a 300EX, but he didn't like it so he traded it. The suspension on the EX is better than that of the warrior when your riding hard, but when your taking it easy the warrior is the most plush. The warrior has more top end, even though it doesn't feel like it. There are many mods for both of the quads. Both quads are reliable if they are taken care of properly and on a regular basis. It is all up to you which quad you will like the most. I prefered the warrior to the EX because when I rode the EX it felt like i was going to go over the handle bars. It seemed like you sat closer to the front wheels, and I didn't like that. The warrior has about 4-7 more HP over the EX. I choose the warrior for many reasons, but the number one reason was the bottom end and power. It has loads of both. I can stand my quad straight up in 3rd gear with only gassing it hard. I was not able to do this on a 300EX.
I hope I gave some input, but the best advice you'll recieve from here is,
IT'S ALL UP TO YOU. WHICH EVER YOU CHOOSE YOU'LL BE HAPPY WITH IT.
Just remember to take each for a ride a few times to help you decide which quad you like better.
Good luck!!

I don't feel that either one is really more dependable than the other. The pros and cons are so minor between the both, it kinda comes down to ergonomics. I'm bigger, the Warrior fit me. The 300ex feels slightly small. But, both are quality machines. Either one will make you happy, especially in the trails.

I've owned a Warrior in the past, and we have a 300 now. The Warrior handles big and clunkey compared to the 300. There is no comparison as far as suspension is concerned-the 300 is WAY better! The Warrior jumps pretty well, but not as well as the 300. The Warrior foot pegs are kind of high so I always finished the day with sore knees. Both are good trail bikes and the Warrior is faster (BUT THAT DOESN'T HELP WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE THE SUSPENSION TO HANDLE IT!!!). Both are bomb proof. The Warrior is bigger, so large people will have more room. If you are big, a 400 or Raptor might be a better choice. I think Yamaha should drop the Warrior-it's old and tired!! Honda should update the 300 with a more modern power plant, and lighten it up as much as possible.

I used to have both at the same time.My warrior was 1995 and was a real lemon.A lot of guys say their warrior's are trouble and I am siure they are. Our's was not though.
Our 300ex Has been through he*% and back and has came back for more.I have drown it lakes and creeks.I have had it stuck in mud up to the back fenders.I have jumped it so high I bent the muffler in with the axle.
The warrior fit me better than the 300ex though.(I'm 6'3)The 300ex was far better on wheelie's.
Both qauds are exellent.Like the other guy said it really comes down to what fits U better.
And oh yea our 300ex has beaten or tired every warrior it has raced.I don't know why.
