nerf bars-titled foot pegs?

nerf bars-titled foot pegs?
I am trying to figure out the instructions to mount the nerf bars on a Honda 400ex. Seems easy enuff except my foot pegs are titled and it looks like in the instructions the pics show level foot pegs???? Could they be mounted on the wrong side?
Ant help would be appreciated.
