If you removed the air box got a jet kit and put a k+n filter on it with a prefilter on it you will get alot more airflow equaling more power!

You don't want a paper filter. A K&N is surgical gauze, while a Uni is a foam. Both of these improve air flow. If you have an aftermarket pipe on it, add an aftermarket air filter and remove the lid (don't throw the airbox out!) you will need to rejet. Go larger on the main jet.
To repack your silencer, just go to any shop and buy the package stuff and do it.

I would say removing the air box is more trouble than its worth in the long run. Just remove the air box lid and you see a difference.

I have K&N and UNI filters. The foam UNI is easier to maintain, I use a outerwear on it. I use a doubled over panty hose on the K&N, it works great. Whether you use foam or paper is mostly a matter of preference. I would definitely recommend an outerwear on either for the sand.

If your quad is louder than normal, the silencer needs repacking. Go to your local cycle dealer and ask for silencer packing. Take the aluminum cover off of the silencer and remove the old packing if there is any left. Next, wrap the new packing tightly around the silencers baffle. Once its all on there, you can secure it with a few pieces of masking tape. Finally put the aluminum cover back on and reinstall. You should see a big difference in the sound.
