I'm 15 and am looking into some field of engineering. I've rode fourwheelers all my life, and love to work on them. I can't decide which would be the best project quad for me, to help further my interst and education. I don't have a great deal of money to spend so. $3000 tops. I'm looking at buying a Honda 250R, and restoring it(eventually i'm gonna do this no matter what). Or what about buying a banshee or 400ex, with a blown engine and either completely rebuilding the engine myself, or using the frame to install something like a CR500, or some other powerful engine. I hope yall will help me decide.

i'm 16 and i love working on quads too. and if i were you i'd restore the 250r first before i did any complete engine rebuilding or putting new engines in frames. its up to you though. good luck with your project.

I'm 15 also and I work on my quads more then I ever ride them. If I were you I'd go after a 250R, one that needs a lot of TLC. With the R's you can get back all your money if not more then what you put into them. Putting the CR500 engine into a quad chasis would require quite a bit of fabrication and it'd be awful expensive but it would be a thrill to ride. I'd go with the R if I were you. I restored my CR125 and that thing halls A$$ now, good learing experience for me though. Good Luck!

hey. im 15 from minnesota. ever since i started to get into quads i always wanted the 250r. but i haven't gotten one yet. and after wacthing huevos III thats all i think about. i have a 87 banshee and a 86 quadracer. both are mine and i restored both and they are so awesome. but i would rather have a "R". if you don't want yur 205R sell it to me or something! haha but if i was you i would stick with the 250r.

OH I want it.I love it when it gets hits the power band and U can barely hang on.I love it when U shift to 4th gear and the front tires raise.I love it when U can head into a corner with it pinned and not worry about rolling.I love it when U can screw up a jump so bad but land smoothly.

I JUST LOVE IT!!!!!

I own a Quadracer right now that I've put a lot of time, effort and money into fixing up, but in a couple years after I'm out of college, I'm buying an '88 or '89 250R and turning it into a full-on MX race quad. I can't wait till that day finally comes. I've rode Banshee's and 400ex's and my LT250R, but no Honda 250R's yet. But I know that will definitely be my next quad and I would highly recommend it to you also. Dollar for dollar, it's the best high performance machine out there.
