I just bought a k and n air filter for my 300ex and I was wondering if I need an outerwear thing for it (not sure what it is called), or anything else like that. Thanks. If I dont need anything that would be great,cause I am kinda broke.

 

i don't use one on mine...airbox lid is still on and no holes drilled though...as soon as a pipe goes on, off with the airbox lid and on with the outerwears.

 

Hey, an Outerwear is only $12. Just get one when you have the extra change.

 

The Outerwears are good insurance and worth it!! To start with, I'm nervous running a K&N. Here in the desert we have dust like you can't believe. I carry an extra one. As the one in use gets dirty, I swap it out for a clean one.
