I have an opportunity to buy a 08 Honda foreman es 500. Has 2300 miles an is in nice shape. Is it worth $2200 ?

Great deal, I 2nd on making sure it has a title. That's normally about a $3500-$4000 quad. I assume it is 4x4 as Honda made the Foreman 500 in a 2wd version also. Even if it were one of the 2wd ones, that's still a good deal.

 

They made a 2wd 500 Foreman?

 

Yep though I'm not exactly sure what years they made them. A 2wd Foreman 500 and also a 2wd Rancher 420 as well. I don't think Honda still makes a 2wd Foreman but I think the Rancher is still available brand new as a 2wd machine. I had a Rancher 350 2wd but that version as a 4x4 was full-time 4x4 and many people didn't really like that so I'm sure they sold a lot of 2wd Rancher 350's. Same way with the old full-time 4x4 300, not a bad quad even as a 2wd.
