Default 400ex tensioner replace

Ok guys. I went through the whole bike. new gaskets in the head, new exhaust gaskets, adjusted valves, adjusted carb, new valve springs. I am 100% positive the ticking is cam chain. I have seen a few vids and they have the same exact sound, and their problem was the timing chain. So should I just replace the tensioner, or tear the engine apart to replace a lousy chain? Thanks for the help. And here is a vid of it doing its thing: (of course I warmed it up before even touching the throttle)

I'd put a manual chain tensioner on it before ripping the engine apart, see if that solves the noise. But plan a tear down to upgrade the chain in the near future.

How easy is it to replace the tensioner? I see the location, just wondering if I need to remove the exhaust. Thanks.
