I need some help with hooking up my Pro Design kill switch. I have a 400EX that I'm wanting to hook up a Pro Design kill switch. I don't have any wiring diagrams or anything else. I want to make sure the switch works properly. What wires go where? Any help will be appreciated.

The long wire goes to the blackand yellow wire on the coil. The coil is the black box that the spark plug wire leads into. The shorter wire goes to a ground of your choice on the bike. Basically just take a bolt out of your frame and peel the paint out around it.

I dont know how to explain them but they make these electric connectors that allow you to snap the two wires together you just cut the tether wire to length and put both wires in the connector and snap it together.

mx400exer,
I was curious how you like your 400EX compared to your old Lonestar 250R? I understand the reason you went to the 400EX and I commend you for putting your family first. I am sure the 400EX is much slower in a straight line and I would assume the 250R handled much better. Is any of this true? As long as you are still having fun riding and racing then it really doesn't matter.

I know a few guys I race with that started with 400EX's a few years ago. Last year they wanted to get more serious about racing so they bought 250R's and by about mid season they were back to racing their 400EX's. They couldn't get used to the 2 stroke powerband and actually were faster on the track with the 400EX.

Hope all is well with the new baby.

Your right, it's nothing like a 250R. I haven't been able to race it yet. The weather has not been that great on race days. Hopefully this Sunday I'll be able to expierence what the 400 can do. I know that my "R" had the power when ever I needed it. I under stand that the 4 stroke motor is like a train. Lot's of torque vs. the get up and go. I'll let you what I think after the race on Sunday. My son is doing GREAT!!! He's 3 months now.....and going on 2 years old! LOL!! No, really, he's a lot of fun. I can't wait to take him to the track!!! He's gonna have one of them Caymen's, if I have to sell my 400!!!
