Recon 250 Loses Power
My son was out riding last night, and when he came back I could tell something was wrong. It struggled to go up hills, and would occasionally stall struggling up a hill. Anything beyond 3rd gear is pretty useless, if you press the throttle it will struggle, then bog and almost stall. I found a hose disconnected sort of under the air filater box, the spring clamp had come undone and the hose had slipped off. I reattached the hose and clamp thinking had fixed an easy one , but other much change. Smells rich too when idling
Any hints to where I could look?

The choke mechanism may be sticking so check it. Also check that the air filter is OK. If they are not the problem, treat it to a new plug and check if the old one is black and sooty. If that doesn't cure it, clean the carb out. Remove and clean the jets and float needle, and blow compressed air through them and the orifices.

Yeah I thought the same thing about the choke, but I think it is OK. If I pull the choke out, it automatically stalls. SO I think that is good.
Was thinking the spark plug too, was going to buy one now, but apparently there are about 30 diff kinds, so I need to get the old one out and get the part # off of it.
