Post 2002 Honda TRX300EX Wont Start

I dug out a 2002 Honda 300ex out of my barn yesterday, and after my utter failure with both of the 200sx`s, decided that this would be my prjoect quad. I am very very new to repairing these machines, and there is no one to help me out, and my budget is extremely thin, can anyone give my some help on where to start getting this thing running again? So far I moved it and Inflated the tires, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dont really know much about the quad got it for free.

Check if you are getting a spark.

pull the plug, put the cap back on, lay the electrode on bare metal and kick it over...you should see a solid blue spark.

If it's been sitting in a barn then a real good carb cleaning is in order...the pilot (idle) jet has tiny little holes that are easily clogged when gas destabilizes...

After the first few questions I think it may be very difficult for you to rebuild that bike via post. Personally I would go to you tube and search the advise to check from the form. I just youtubed Honda 300ex check spark and the following came back as one of many videos that will show you how to do it.

Manual for the bike can be found here.

https://drive.google.com/drive/mobil...13&direction=a

This will help you take the bike apart when needed and more importantly put it back together.

I agree...I think you're lacking some basic knowledge to undertake a project like this...a manual will only take you so far as well...time to call in some favors from friends that have experience working on these...

Its not that I lack basic knowledge, its that I have an insanely tight budget whereas any mistakes could end my build, I know how to some some of these things its just that maybe the "professionals" on this form may now a better safer way.

I think you have challenging times ahead of you...best of luck on your build...
