I have a 2000 honda foreman 450 and the rear brakes are not working on it.They are really hard to push down and when compressed they do not spring backup.We checked the pads and they are fine.Any help would be appreciated.

 

I've just explained this in the post Getting brakes back on a 300. Getting to the drum is slightly different, but 450 brakes have identical faults and fixes as 300s. You do need to fit new shoes before the shoes are badly worn as they "overcentre" but get the pivots and cables right first.
