i have a 2001 honda rubicon 500hondamatic..i replaced shift angle sensor..shift motor..reset and cleared all codes..reintialized everything....there is a whining noise on the left side of motor at the shift motor location when riding and when in nutreal while reving the engine..has anyone had this problem before an if so what was the issue...any help is greatly appreciated

 

A local farmer has a 500 Auto with a Hondamatic gearbox and it has made a whining noise for the last two years. He is a heavy user, and it must have done over 1000 hours while whining away, so far with no problems. May not be the same noise, but so far "let it develop" has worked for him.

 

still acts like its in a bit of a bind an when i let off the throttle it kicks into nuetral then it goes back into gear
