Default 2013 Honda Rancher

The screen that shows Drive/Neutral/Reverse etc. when almost blank. Only shows - symbol. Was running when it happened and wouldn't go into gear. I turned it off and now it won't start. Any ideas? 2013 Honda Rancher w/ less then 200 miles.

The - symbol means it is between two gears, you get it if you try to change gear when the bike isn't moving, and gently rocking the bike backwards and forwards will usually allow the mechanism to work and the gears to mesh properly. If it happens when the bike is moving, it is usually a sign that something in the selector mechanism has gone wrong, but you haven't told us if your machine is a manual, electric shift, or full auto. There is a lockout on the electric starter that prevents you from starting a bike except in neutral, so it isn't going to spin over until you get it showing N.

It has the option to shift manually or to go automatic. I just went back out, tried it again before I rolled it and it started and ran perfectly. Strange? Thanks for you help!

Just for the heck of it, check the battery and connections/ground.
