hey CSTARK were you able to use your case saver with the 14 tooth sproket. alot of people also ask me what is in my motor, when i go riding. When im riding with 400ex's they always ask me "what the hell is in that thing"! I love the power but sometimes i still want to go buy a 400

If the cam chain is off timing the valves will click. When I put my 230 back together it clicked and the valves were perfect yet they clicked and the cam chain grinded. Turned out I had the cam chain to tight and it had an advanced timing. If I remember right my 300 has an automatic cam chain adjuster.

Did you set your valves to the stock setting or to the setting of your new cam. Check the bolt holes on the cam where the sprocket goes on. Look for a crack.

AL300EX,

I had to grind my case-saver down a bit to get it to fit in with the 14 tooth front sprocket. It was about a 30 minute job. Pretty easy.
I don't know what kind of carb your running with your 330, but a "stock" 400EX carb works great. You can find them used everywhere, or Service Honda has them new for about $160(I think).
I bought a new 400EX carb and had if taper-bored to 27mm and bolted that on. Installed a 350X airboot tube between the carb and airbox, have 8-1 inch holes in my airbox lid, and am sucking air through a UNI. It works well.
I'm thinking about adding an oil cooler. Everyplace I've seen them charges atleast $279. Pretty spendy....

Im still running the stock 300 carb, with no airbox lid,and a K&N filter with outerwear. I have been thinking of getting a 400ex carb, does it mount right up to the 300, and does it come prejetted or did you change the jets. I was also considering a Lectron. Dennis Kirk sells the JAGG oil cooler for 213.00 I was thinking of getting that also, but my engine seems to do alright for now. Alex
