I have had (and have) '86-'89 TRX250Rs and 500 quadzillas, they all had keys from the factory.

 

Yes they had keys. You can find them on Ebay also.

 

The 86 TRX did NOT have a key switch.

I checked the MICROFICHE, it appears that you are right, son. The '86 TRX250R was the only year without the key switch.

Pardon my ignorance

 

WE bought both our bikes from the same guy.So maybe he took them off or something.But neither of them had keys.I don't know where the key switch would have gone.My 86 just had the kill switch. and light switch.My dads zilla was the same.
