The front end of my 99' 400EX is squeaking very badly. I can't tell if it's the A-arms or the shock. Anyone else experience this problem? Everything seems to be intact. There is no wheel wobble, it tracks straight and true. Just very noisy and annoying.

Mine did that too. It turned out to be the shock mounts.

Bruce, you might try disconnecting each shock & spraying some silicone into each bushing & see if that solves the ptoblem. If not, it must be the a-arm bushings. On my Warrior it has zerks on each one so not a problem... that might be a long term solution.

Bruce- My 400ex did the same thing and it was the bearings in the A-arms. Jack up the front and grab the wheel and move it back and forth. If you see movement in the bearing area of the A-arms, that could be your problem.

This is an almost identical question I asked about 6 months ago. All the feedback I received was very helpful...Good luck..

yeah, i had a little diffrent problem, a high pitch squeak. while running. ended up lifting the front end up,(turn the gas off) then spinning the wheels i found that the right front caliper was not returning fully. so as you spin the wheel, it would squeak a little. havent done anything about it, because have mucho mileage on it, and havent seen a difference in pad wear from one side to the other. good luck.
