Is anyone running their 440 on alcohol using a FCR39 carb? Are you using a fuel pump? If so what psi? What is your method of flushing? What kind of maintenance do you suggest (daily, weekly, monthly)? Does this FCR39 bolt right up. Do you have to move anything with the installation of the carb? Jetting? Are there any additives that you mix with the alcohol?

Sorry for all the questions, but in a couple of weeks I'm gonna do the alcohol mod and any insight would be greatly apprieciated.

Yes, the FCR39 bolts right up with the correct airhorn assembly's (they're removable for different applications - if you bought your carb for the 400EX, it will be fine). Nothing has to be adjusted or moved.

If you get the kit for the 400ex it bolts right up..as far as the alcohol after everytime you ride you have to "purge" it you get a little container and a little funnel take off you gas line and run regular gas through it every time you ride... If you dont do this alcohol is i believe 90% water and you will wear out you main bearings...but all this is worth an extra 10 ponies...do this change your quad will run cool gain power but youll have to purge it...

good luck

CT Racing claims that you should use a "top lube" with 4-strokes while using alcohol. Do you know anything about it?

Alcohol is definately the way to go with drag bikes! They run cooler, more ponies, cheaper prices, etc.!

Top lube is basically an addivtive you add to alcohol. basically put, it adds lubricants to the alcohol to make it more friendlier to use. it comes in differnt flavors too, so your exhaust can smell like cherry, grape, etc...it will definitley cut down on maintenace of an alcohol engine. try your local speed shop for some or local race gas dealer.
