i was wondering how expensive a new top end is for a 250x becuz i found one for 400 dollars that just needs a new top end. i was also wondering how fast it would be on top end with a pipe and that ?? any answers would be greatly appretiated thanx

 

I had my top end rebuilt by a shop for $500...

that's bored, pistons, rings, rocker arms, valves, cam, and I don't know what else...

with a K&N airfilter, 30 main jet, and DG full pipe, it could run 60 with the stock gearing and 20" rear tires

 

where is the best place to get the engine rebuilt? i have a 250X too and would like to have a new top end. do i need to get it sent away or can i get a local buddy to do it??

 

It could be just a piston,rings and bore. That could be as cheap as 200 bucks. THere might be something wrong with the bottom end and that is big bucks
