hey everyone...Im the new guy here and i hope i can get along with all of you and i hope you take your riding more seriously than the jerks over at supercross.com. If any of you are members there I am ~*CR125_GUY*~ but I am now entering the wide world of ATV's. And i am going to be buying a new one in the next couple of weeks. But I am still undecided on which one to buy. Its got to be either the 400EX or 300EX but Im torn by the two. the 300 has reverse and costs less, while the 400 has no reverse, costs more, but im sure rips way more @$$ than the 300. Please help me out and tell me what i should do. Im 15 yrs. old- 5'10- 150 lbs. Um I hope i can make some new freinds around here and i hope to hear from you all soon!! talk to ya later. Nick
p.s. Im sure youve seen topics like this a million times and Im sorry, but i still need advice really bad. thanx again guys

Go for the 400ex, you won't miss reverse and the 400ex is bigger but weighs less so you can grow into since your 15 and still getting bigger. The 400ex won't overpower you but it's one of the best jumpers out there and it's plenty fast for me. It's probably one of the best mx quads even when matched up against the bigger 4 strokes out there.

Yep..the 400ex is a 4 stroke thumper!!
I owned a 300ex for about a year then traded it in for a 400ex.
I like the gearing, suspension and handling a lot better on the 400ex, and I don't mind not having reverse.
Honestly, if you can get your hands on the machines, I would tell you to ride them and see for yourseslf. I know that isn't always possible though.
I have the yellow and it loooooks sweet!!!
Good luck!!!
Later, Sher

We have both. At your size, the 300 is borderline. The 400 will give you room to grow, both in fit and preformance. There is a 300 review article in one of the current magazines. It said something like-if you're going to spend the money to mod up the 300, you might as well have started out with a 400 for only $900 more.
