Have a couple of trx 400s that I got from an uncle who said they may need work since they’ve been sitting. Initially won’t start. Replaced battery, changed oil, flushed fuel tank and cleaned valve, replaced spark plug and this thing still won’t start.

it cranks like it wants to start but I can’t get it to actually fire over.

any ideas? All help is appreciated

 

Check compression, less than 90psi and it may be needing a rebuild, but rings can stick with standing, so a little oil down the plug hole to lube them and help seal, for initial start, could be all it needs. However too much oil could foul the plug. A hand held for a second over the carb bellmouth can pull the fuel through, but again, too much will wet the plug.
