I need some help with figuring out the issue at hand.

I just picked up 2 02 Honda Foreman Rubicon 500FAs. I just did a head gasket kit on one and carb clean out. Got it all together. Put a new battery in and once I turned the key, the cluster started flashing D1, D2, ESP, and hours. I haven’t tried pull starting it but the electric start doesn’t work.

I thought it might be the ECM, but I changed it with the parts quad I got and that didn’t change anything

I haven’t put any other parts into it yet, but wanted to know if there is certain parts or anything I should test.


Im stumped and at a loss. Im hoping I didn’t just blow 1800 on two junk quads.

Please help anyone.

 

The D1 etc, indicator usually flashes a line and this line flashes Morse code, which tells you what the fault is. However if you are not getting the line, I think a bigger fault may be occurring. I would guess a sensor is disconnected or a wire to it broken. Did you remove the throttle position sensor when you were cleaning the carb? It is one of those "take it to your dealer" parts if it needs fixing, so best left alone.
