I'm changing my '88 250R from a prior TT racer to a recreational sand dune machine and need help with the front sprocket. It currently has a 13 tooth sprocket and it raps up EXTREMELY quick and tops out at 75 mph. The motor feels like it can easily pull more with a higher gear and I would like to know what's the ideal front sprocket to run on these bikes in the dunes (14, 15 or keep the 13)?

Thanks,

If you're going to really ride in the dunes, keep the 13 tooth. The power I think you have can pull the 14 but I don't think you'll need the extra top-end speed. If you want to just drag up hills, go with a 12 and a larger rear sprocket and take off in 3rd!
