throttle return spring
#1
The throttle on our Recon has always been somewhat hard to use. I took the thumb part all apart and cleaned it and greased the thumb lever shaft. I also sprayed lube down the inside of the cable untill it ran out the other end and worked the cable back and forth. IT was very smooth and easy to push. But when I reattached the cable to the carb it became difficult to push again. The only thing I can figure is that the big spring in the carb is too hard to compress. I was wondering if I snipped a bit of the spring off it might help. I figure as long as I left enough spring to close the slide when the throttle is released it would be ok. Has anyone tried this or think it might cause some problems if I do this?
