Thanks for y’all’s help. ACV checked out. Sorry bout the snorkel misunderstanding. Several years ago I did find dirt daubers in there. I placed a screen on the intake end of it to prevent that. Has kept them out since. I thought about needle clip adjustment, but it seems to be doing ok midrange. May fiddle with it anyway just to see. Unfortunately, I will have to temporarily put this project on the back burner. I work nights 7 on 7 off in an ER and will be starting my stretch on tonight. Will respond with update when able. Thanks again.

Finally got back to it. Pulled carb and went through it again just because I’m **** that way. Went to reinstall it and noticed the boot was upside down on the engine side blocking about 1/3 of the opening 🤦🏻‍♂️. Fixed that and decided to bring needle clip up one notch (needle down). Barely started and ran like crap (would only run with choke on). Moved back to middle notch and it got better. Set fuel screw back to 2 turns out. Idles great now and runs normally until about 1/2 throttle and starts bucking again. Think I’m getting closer. Whatchall think?

I know this is sin to say probably but have you tried another carb altogether even like a cheap Chinese one from Amazon? I am a big proponent of keeping the OG Honda carbs in the machines but I've solved some annoying issues by trying another carb even if it is Chinese. These Honda's are man-made and as good as the original carbs are, they CAN have factory faults even with a good rebuild. The carb is a big single point of failure that should be eliminated even after a rebuild doesn't work. Just make sure for piece of mind?

And if the problem follows, you've eliminated that issue and you have a cheap backup carb or one for another machine you are restoring. LOL!

Truth. I thought about it for a minute and figured since it is bucking at mid throttle now, I’d try bringing the clip on the jet needle back up a notch after bringing the fuel screw back to 2 turns out. Now it breaks up as soon as I start to move the throttle. Once I get passed that it’s all golden. 🤔

These aren't complicated computer controlled/fuel injected machines (most aren't anyway). If it has a carb, it is probably the culprit of problems like this. I'd remove the one you are fighting with from the equation, at least to make sure for your own sanity. hah

Don't overcomplicate. Get rid of the hemorrhoid in your troubleshooting. I trust the Honda engine over the Carb everyday and twice on Sunday.

It’s an OEM carb that’s been on this machine for a few years and I’ve not had problems with it till now (if it’s actually the problem). Thinking about leak down testing and I still haven’t delved very far into checking for air leaks at other spots besides the carb. I’m really suspicious of the carb though because of the results of the tweaking I’ve done so far.
