I haven’t and electrical is definitely not my forte. I’m a nurse by trade, so mechanics comes easy. Electrical…not so much.

Yeah your problem isn't electrical. You can start it (spark). That's most important. With throttle it's having issues. Seems 100% carb related to me. Swap it and see if the symptoms are the same.. then report back.

Sorry for the delay. Finally got back to it this week. Something told me to revisit valves so I did. Zero clearance on both 😳. I can only assume I was 180 out when I set them last time. Put OEM carb back on and she runs like a champ. Sure made me feel like an idiot. Got a spare carb now though. Thanks everyone for the help. Y’all are awesome.

That's awesome, glad it was something simple like that. Never hurts to have a backup carb either. Good call.

Another update that may be of interest… started running bad again. Mostly at mid throttle. Brought that needle clip back to center. Drove it again and she started bucking like a saddle bronc at the rodeo. Limped back to the house. Tried to start it up and… nothing. Would turn over but not start. Checked for spark. No spark. Switched plugs. Nothing. Followed coil wire to coil. Ground wire was barely hanging on. Tightened connector and voila! Started and is running better than it ever has since before the top end rebuild. Was probably the problem the whole time. Lesson learned. Check everything!
