Default 2005 honda rancher at not shifting

I have a 2005 honda rancher 400at that won't shift. Esp blinks 12 times. I've changed the angle sensor and shift motor and still blinking. I've read about so many others DOING the same thing but never how it's been fixed

In the code list 12 comes up as "ECM motor driver circuit" problem. Usually this is the main motor fuse. Just googled it and one person had an overcharging regulator that blew the fuse and threw up the code. If the fuse hasn't gone I would check the wires to and from it, to be sure there isn't a break in one of them. Oddly enough I had a 500 King Quad that faulted the power steering yesterday. Turned out to be the regulator overcharging on that. Power steering ECU sensed it and shut down.

Correct merryman overcharging units is always overlooked. a lot of of atvs cannot handle much over 15 volts
