Broke my oil tank on my 01 400EX

I read this thread out of curiosity and I always like to hear someone using a torque wrench. It might not seem like a necessity but usually you will find you typically OVER-tighten without one. This has the effect of stressing the bolt/nut/ threads etc and causing problems.
Now for my rant: DO NOT USE OIL ON THREADS!. This will skew the torque reading producing the results of OVER-tightening. Get some ANTI-SEIZE lubricant which is supposed to work WITH a torque wrench without distorting the readings.

Oil on the threads ar required on some things like the cylinder head bolts on modular Ford motors. Basically you just got to follow the service manual and what they recomend. Now, if you don't have the factory service manual you shouldn't be working on that product.
