It's official, Feb of 2003 we will finally have a new big bore sport quad. This is not a lie either! Right now they are leaning towards a 600cc liquid cooled thumper with reverse in a new chassis. They are also testing the 650, but more than likely it's going to be the 600. AND NO I'M NOT RATTING OUT THE PERSON WHO TOLD ME, BUT THIS IS A VERY RELIABLE SOURCE!

whats the point. Why wouldn't they just put the CRF450 motor in a quad and it make just as much power but weight less and be liquid cooled. I would much rather have a 450ex than a 600ex. The CRF450 is making 55hp. Stock the 400 makes like 32hp I think (both at the crank).

With all that BLAH BLAH BLAH, I thought you rode a Banshee. :-) Yeah, I don't care what you think, it doesn't matter. Honda is just taking their time to do it right. Honda will blow the top off of the sport just like they did in '86 and '99.

And on the 450 motor, yeah it would be a nice quad. But there's no replacement for displacement. This is very true in the woods. I ride with 2(soon to be 3) guys with Raptors. They spank me past my 4th gear bad. With all that torque, there's just no challenge. THIS is what I'm after. I really don't care about motocross racing, I'm after a big bore thumper with reverse for in the woods with a Wing on it. Thats all.

Me too.

I prefer a 450EX than a HEAVY 600 or 650EX.

I kill every Raptor in the woods and in MX with my 440EX, I can not imagine a Liquid Cooled 450EX.

i'd rather have the 450 too. less weight, better technology... can you say titamium valves? how about a piston that is 112 grams lighter than the conventinal design!

jvc400ex is right, the reason for Honda acting slow is because they want to go it right.

This wont be a heavy beast, you all know that Hondas are light and that will never change, they will try to get it as light as they can. I do agree with others that they will probably keep the 400EX's frame and chassis, but with a bigger engine, because if they had to make a bigger frame and everything else bigger just to fit on the frame then you'd have weight problems. But they would have to make practically everything aluminum, or it would turn out to be a heavy beast
