What's The Difference
#1
Alright 250R buffs- I have a few questions. I may be mistaken, but 250R's had a sad and short production time ranging from 86'-89'. What are the differences, if any, among those years? Were there any significant difference, i.e. suspension, frame dimensions, engine mods, etc.? If so, are there any articles and/or websites that have the history of the 250R? Thank you for the help.

This has been covered in this forum numerous times. If you want to really learn something about the 250R, here's a website dedicated to it. .http://pub20.ezboard.com/bhondatrx250r
The major differences
86-87 have adjustable camber
86 has shorter connecting rod and piston, different cylinder
88-89 have a-arms moved forward 1"
88-89 have 1" shorter swingarm
86-87 swingarm is steel, 88-89 are aluminum
They all have the same wheel base length
All are 246cc stock
86-87 headlight on bars, 88-89 headlight in hood
88 was the only all red year
86-87 could be red/white or blue/white, 89 red/white
Lots of minor changes every year.
