wazzup, I was just wondering how far u can jump your 400ex, and what gear it was in. I just got a 400ex 2 weeks ago and i when i first jumped it, it was crazy how nice it jumps.. i was hoping on making a 30ft double in my woods this summer, and my woods arent that big to get some good speed..the only gear i ride in my woods is second. I am also wondering how far do u think u can jump in second gear on the 400? thanks

So far, the biggest I've jumped is about 80 or so feet on a 90 foot tabletop. I jumped this in 4th, and had still had quite a bit more throttle left in the gear.

Anyway, with a stock motor, gearin, etc., I seriously doubt you could jump a 30 foot double in 2nd gear. You could surely jump a 20 foot double in 2nd, but for a 30 footer, I think you'd need to go up into about 3rd gear. Hope I helped.

about 51 feet (it was measured with some1's actual foot but their foot was very close to 12 inches) it was a small jump (about 1 and a half feet high) that sends you out more than up. i was probably only about 5 feet in the air. i hit the jump middle of 4th gear. it was a stock 400EX except air box lid off and no spark arrestor. i know that jump was nothing like a big double but its my personal farthest jump and no1 in the trails has been able to beat it yet.

My longest jump that I have measured is 26 feet. That is around my house and I was in 2nd gear. The jump is at the top of a hill and it just a distance jump, not a height jump. I have jumped some jumps in 3rd gear and got some pretty crazy air, probably about 35 feet. That would be the most. It depends on how the jump is build on how fast you have to go to clear it.

If i were you I would just build one jump that doesn't send you to high in the air and see how far you can jump. Then figure on were putting the landing jump at. You might be landing hard before you make the double, but at least you will know where to put it and still be able to clear it.

I dont have a 400EX, but i have some things to say on this subject. I have a 250R and the longeset ive jumped is a 90ft tabletop. I hit it in fourth gear. If i were you i wouldn't start building doubles before you know what your machine will do. I would build some jumps and get used to your quad in the air. I would start with tabletops and go to doubles. No, i dont think a 400EX will make a 30footer in second. I would either make a smaller jump, or put it where you could have a better run.

im 15 and i don't have an ex, i have a quadracer, and the longest iv jumped is 70ft with a stock suspenseion. real hard landings but im getting new shocks and extended a-arms soon. um and also, anyone could jump a table top, i think its just a waste of dirt. you never land on it, so it just sits there and makes the jump look smaller. BIG DOUBLES no TROUBLES! also, another crazy jump iv hit is a cliff jump off a 20 ft high cliff with a 4 ft jump at the top soaring 45 ft down pulling a heelclicker, or nofooted can can, or maybe even a stalefish seran wrap. now try and do that? it's a good way to scare the $h!t outa ya! haha

ive hit a 65-70 foot doudle in 3rd gear tapped.. i think you would make a 30 foot doudle in 2nd gear, i hit that same 65-70 doudle in 2nd gear by mistake once, i cased real hard and i was ok but i make it pretty fare across i would say more then half way. and whats the big deal, why cant you just shift into 3rd when you hit this jump????
