Does it blink with 2 dashes? "--" ???? If so the service manual says it is part of the self diagnostic part of computer. It stores a code in memory to tell the tech what to check.
Here's the procedure for getting the code....
put gearshift in "Neutral"& turn vehicle off.
Turn ignition switch on while pushing "up" & "down" shift switches simultaneously.
Release up/down switches immediately, & then push up/ down switches again simultaneously for 2 seconds or more.
the code is displayed on the display by the number of times the dashes blink. The way I read this the last time you push up/down switches in you have to hold them till code is displayed & then release the switches.
It will blink the # of times for the code followed by a 2 second pause then blink again for the 1st previous problem.
Let me know what the code is & I'll look it up & give you some areas to check.
Good luck
It also says turning off & on will reset the shift function & will again disable the shift function if problem occurs again. But I'm assuming you've allready tried this.
