Rigging rear BREAK light... HOW!?
#1
Im looking to street-legal my 01' 400EX.
The only requirements here in AZ are:
Break light, horn, small mirror on handlbars.
(tiny black K-mart mirror is even ok)
The only thing im concerned about is the break light.
Someone who has done this, please explain to me what to buy, and do.
400EX obviously already has the rear light, but need it to be break light, not just tail light.

I've done this to my Banshee. Wyoming is also one of the few states that you can be street legal real easy. I bought a break light switch at the local Yamaha shop and a new tail light assembly. The stock tail light didn't have the wiring or the light bulb socket for a 2 filament bulb that you need. A little wiring and a few tie wraps later it was all done. I'm sure you could get a switch at a junkyard or something as well as the tail light but you gotta make sure you are able to mount them both on your quad.

It's pretty easy... I was at my local Honda shop and the parts guy handed me a $5 switch relay that you attach to your cables, so when pulled, it activated the relay, with a hot wire run and a two way bulb the whole cost was about $10...ask your shop about it, most of them can hook it up in a couple minutes.
