I need to get some plastic for my 86 250R and i really like the 88 cherry red plastic. I was wondering if the 88 plastic would work on the 86 frame? If so, does it use all the same mounting locations? or does something need to be modified for it to work? any help would be appreciated

 

I have an 86 250R that I put 88 plastic on with no modifications. Everything fit fine and looks great.

 

Yes, any year R plastic will work on any year of R. I too liked the red and put 88 plastic on my 87 R.
