My 87 250R vibrates really bad since it's a 2 stroke of course and it's begining to really bother my hands. I have a newer handlbar and grips and I wear MX gloves but after a long day riding my hands are numb. Is there a good solution for this or is it just one of the sacrifices? any info is appreciated.

I dont really understand why your 250R vibrates so badly. The one I had never had a very noticeable vibration. The 250R motor is counterbalanced, and should not have excessive vibration problems.

Check all your motor mounts. That could be adding to the vibration.

There are some tricks to combat vibration. The cheap ones are Oury MX grips(very soft compound). Also, you can fill your handlebars up with silicone. If you have $300 you can buy a steering stem with anti vibe mounts.

Personally, I think your machine might have a problem. Maybe, someone can help you in here.

You might want to make sure the counter balancer is lined up and the flywheel nut is tight.

I agree with Bermbanger. I run into this problem myself once. I replace the crank bearings and after re-assembly the quad had a terrible vibration. Turns out I missed the timing mark on the counterbalancer. I was sure I checked it when I put it together, but...........it was off.

when I put aluminum handlebars on my 300ex, I felt more vibation through the bars. I think the stock steel bars soak up more of the vibration than the aluminum. so, I bought some of those bar ends that go on street bike handlebars, and it killed the vibration. they have a rubber core that expands when you install them. I also heard about that silicon trick, that should work too.
