Hey everyone, an ATV Salvage shop down the road from me has a COMPLETE TRX250R frame, and I was wondering if I could possibly put a CR250 motor in it. Would it be about the same? I know the CR motor PUMPS HP, and has a very smooth delivery. Also, I have a Yamaha 225 Motor.. and, I was wondering how it would be in something like an.. ATC 70 frame.. I can do all the work myself, and I want something to show off.. Thanks for replies

You can make anything fit in anything. All I have to say is that it will vibrate like a MOTHER but if you wanna do it then stuff a CR500 in it, that is fairly common so I think someone will help you out there. And what would be the point of doing a conversion of the same cc motor anyway.

People like to cry wolf about "No counterbalancer" My TRI-Z is a 1985 and with relativly good and regular maintenance it starts on the first kick every day, guess what,no counterbalancer.I wish I had the dough to put a CR250 in an ATV chassis, if I were you I would do it.PS use rubber motor mounts and it will be fine.Good luck.

I'm not sure about the vibration factor, but I do know the stock tranny will not last long unless it is modified (ie. clutch, clutch basket and gears)

the vibration sucks. it will crack the frame up badly in no time. rubber mounted or not, it will still happen. The reason some 3 wheelers had no counterbalancer is they also have forks like a bike to absorb vibration.

I wouldn't do it to a perfectly good 250R frame.
