It's always very sad to hear about someone passing away while atving. When it happens on a sport atv, it makes the evening news and even the paper. When it happens on a utility atv, it just goes away.

 

peltrax- If you knew those kids who did that, I would beat them up so hard, until they cry hard for their mommys. There is no reason to tie a string or wire at head or neck level, that's just not cool. I feel so disgusted about that. OHH if I lived near you I'd pull out a can of whoop azz and pound them in the ground[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

like quadnut said, our sport does involve some dangers...there are ways that we can protect ourselves, like helmets and other protective gear, and if worn correctly and used, it does work!!! my helmed has saved my mellon many times!!! I don't think that our sport is any more dangerous than driving down the highway in your car. It's just that our sport gets a little more chriticizism than everything else. just because our sport isn't what many people consider "the normal" we receive a little more scrutenay than everything else, and especiallly with all these
eco-****'s too. they're just waiting for somethinig like this to happen so they can shut us down.
but i also believe that if your number is up, and it's your time to check out, that there's nothing you can do to stop it.

yeah ,

here in NEPA , in Carbondale a 17 yr old guy was killed w/ a atv accident .

this was 3 weeks ago , the end of may .

dunno the details , i assume perhaps rolling down a coal hill while riding , cuz in that city , that is the most popular atv area .

it sux , i guess it makes the rest more cautious when riding.
