Well considering a Bayou goes like what 40. I think there might be something wrong with the machine. Or maybe you dont know hot to race. I was looking towards buying a Bayou but my friend said they are as slow as minibikes.

i have a 250EX and it is way faster then a bayou220!!!! if you cant beat bayou220 in 3rd gear with a 250ex it means you are the worst rider in the world! one reason-250EX is a sport
two-bayou is a utility
three-bayous in 5th gear arent slow but arent fast either is a 250EX but it can hit at least 55mph!

for all of you who said the 250ex sucks, well guess what....it doesn't...if.....it is used for what it was designed for. it is a beginner sport quad. how can you even try to compare it to a 300ex or 400ex? they were all built for totally different riding styles. The bayou 220 does not suck..if it is a first quad, or used as a light utility quad. for someone who wants a light, reliable, long lasting quad. the 220 is great. same goes for the 250ex. if you want a fun quad with an auto-clutch, that is reliable and will last a long time, the 250ex is great.

Just so you "smart *** kids" know, it's brand bashing and name calling like this that makes people want to leave the forums. I'm not going to point any fingers cough cough 97300EXGUY cough cough KKKiller300EX. Seriously though guys, grow up a little. I don't care if 250exkid was roosting himself, you should leave him be unless you have something constructive to contribute to this forum.

As far as trail riding goes... including mud... you'd be hard pressed to beat a well ridden 250EX (on any other machine)... light weight, auto clutch, and shaft drive are the only way to go on trails... period... if your an experienced trail rider you already know this...

I will trade you a 2001 Warrior for your 250EX... I know a Warrior is a much better machine, but I have a 9yr old who wants to upgrade from him LT80 and the 250EX would be perfact since the Warrior is to big for him. Let me know if you are interested...

To respond to your problem though, You need a bigger/faster quad. More like a 300EX, Warrior, etc. Sorry but the 250EX is strictly a beginners quad. heck, I figure that my boy will be to advanced for one by the time he is 13 or so.

Read my posting... I'm not saying I need a new machine or can't keep up... I'm saying that a 250EX is the perfect trail machine... better than anything w/ a clutch... I am 6'4" and weigh 250 lbs. and I guarantee you that I can keep up with anything in the trails on the 250EX... again... in the trails... not drag racing or MX...

Friggin... is that the extent of your vocabulary... your Raptor is way too wide and has way to much power for any tight trail riding... your just angry you spent $6000+ for a machine that will get smoked in the trails by a $3700 250EX...
